. Realistic Simulation and Physics: Don’t be fooled by the light-hearted/comical presentation; the fundamentals of baseball are well represented and if someone isn’t familiar with the rules, they will be after playing Super Mega Baseball. Groundbreaking Difficulty System: Super Mega Baseball boasts an innovative difficulty control scheme called the Ego system. The Ego system offers a fine-grained control of difficulty on a per-user basis, which has been widely praised for leveling the playing field in cooperative and competitive modes. This system will push seasoned gamers to their limits while simultaneously providing a gentle introduction for beginners.
Up-to Four Player Local Co-op Play: In addition to solo play, players can try their hand at head-to-head, 2v1, 2v2 and co-op against the CPU. In co-op mode, teammates alternate batting/running each time at-bat, and alternate pitching/fielding each inning, meaning ballplayers need to be on their toes every play. To even games, players can use the Ego system to set up a competitive game between friends of any skill level. Ultra Responsive and Blazing Fast Gameplay: Controls are easy to learn, but players will need to master jumping, diving, wall-catches, power-swings and cut-off plays to properly dominate friends. Short load times and a streamlined interface means most of the time is spent in the action, with nine-inning games taking around 20 minutes to play.
Full Batting and Pitching Statistics: Most baseball statistics imaginable are available and ballplayers can use these to show off their MVP-quality skills. Leveling System: Players tally up Starpoints for hits, strikeouts and catches during each game and Level Up once they collect enough points. Players can hire staff to train and coach their squad, improving skill attributes such as Power and Speed. Use that jacked up team to win at higher difficulties (and post higher leaderboard scores than friends)!. Player Customization: Customize the look and names of a team’s players to create a ragtag crew of family and friends. Make as many aesthetic adjustments as you can imagine!

Although keep in mind that if you're playing a season and, for instance, set hitting to 65 and everything else to 80, you'll only get credit for playing at 65.For me, 70 makes for competitive and realistic games. I'd go higher but it's around this point that hitting becomes really tough and I struggle to get even 5 or 6 runs a game. I bumped it up to 25, had a really awesome game only managed to score 5 runs. Which considering the scores I've been getting was a relief. Unfortunately in the 8th inning I exploded and scored another 10 runs. Think I'm going to bump it up to 30.I'm not good yet, maybe one of the others can help out. The only thing I do is wait on the pitch.
Then swing when it's over the plate, sometimes I move the little ball around a bit before hitting the pitch. For pitching I typically paint the corners.up to level 32, still smoking the CPU, last game was like 12 - 3,. Guess I'll keep on pushing the ego up until the CPU stops me.
Originally posted by:I just started playing, I'm at 22, going to bump that up as I'm crushing the other team.Lol, what's your secret as I can't manage to win any game at level 15.Anyone with some tips for a poor soul like me lol.Are you doing power pitching or just default pitching? Power pitching makes a huge difference with the opponents ability to hit the ball. And when you hit are you adjusting the target to move the bat to different positions (trying to get under a fastball, etc.)?Also, I've found that at higher ego levels it's important to work at manufacturing runs, i.e. Hit & runs, sacrificing, aggressive baserunning, steals, bunts, etc. Originally posted by:I'm at default 15 and can't win a freaking game. I'm like 0-5. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but for a reason when I'm around the 4th inning, the AI just crush a homerun everytime and if I can get 2 hits in a game, I'm lucky.
I've yet to hit a homerun yet alone a double. I've tried power hitting to no avail. Seems like I always end up hitting the ball straight at the pitchers glove. What am I doing wrong?A few tips that will hopefully help:.
Mixing up your pitches and locations is always important. The CPU will recognize if you throw the same pitch in the same spot over and over again. Get a feel for all your offspeed stuff so you can move the ball all around the plate and keep the CPU guessing. And don't worry about throwing a strike every time either. Like Enik said, power pitching will make it a lot tougher for the CPU to make good contact, but that's assuming your hit your spots. Power pitching also makes it tougher to locate your pitches and you might end up leaving a lot of stuff over the plate that gets hammered. I'd probably stick with normal pitching early on since it should be more than enough for Ego 15.
Are you using a controller? If so, are you using X for power swings? Try switching to the right-stick to pull back and push forward. Made a huge difference for me. At lower Ego levels, just worry about timing your swings. The CPU will move the cursor to where it needs to be, all you need to do is make hard contact. WTF am I doing wrong? I don't struggle with pitching, I have a damn hard time with hitting the freaking ball.
If I make contact, the ball just barely makes it to the pitcher or if I'm lucky, the base players but without any authority.I've tried your tip by power hitting with the right joystick to no avail. And contrary to what you said, the CPU doesn't move the cursor to where it needs to be.
I need to move the cursor myself at EGO 15. I can make contact at the ball but the ball just does not catch air. I have never ever hit a damn fly ball in 6 or 7 games. All I hit is grounder.
I remember playing TP baseball and I never sucked like this.Anyway, it's my loss since I can't ask for a refund now. I should have just do that before I played a game tonight as I had under 2 hours played. Now I'm at 2.4 hours so it's useless.Talk about a frustrating game. I even tried at EGO 1 and I just can't hit a ball correctly.
Something must be wrong because you guys say they just destroy the AI at higher level and even on the lower level, it doesn't work for me. Could it be possible that I should delete and reinstall the game as this seems like a bug to me. I am fairly good at all the games I play but on this one, I just don't get it.
